Brazil Promises Security and
Comfort for 2014
Rio de Janeiro - Brazil
committed itself to offer fans and teams secure and comfortable
stadiums to play soccer for the 2014 World Soccer Cup, in case of
being eligible among the 12 nations out of 17 that have presented
their 2014 candidature as host country.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said it will be a
chance for Brazil to build and reform a net of last update soccer
stadiums, comfortable and secure, for the fans and visitors.
The President met International Soccer Federation (FIFA) president
Joseph Blatter Thursday morning in Brasilia, to talk about the
organization of the World Cup.
Brazilian news net Globonews said Lula da Silva told Blatter the
stadiums should be investments by private companies in association
with the municipal governments of the host cities organizing the
event.
The Swiss executive is visiting Brazil this week, to make an
inspection on the candidate cities for the 2014 World Soccer Cup.
However, he did not give any secure opinion on which of the 17
proposals might be in the final list of 12. |
