Venezuelan Activists Condemn US Blockade of Cuba

Caracas - Venezuela''s Itinerant Forum of People''s Participation condemned the 50-year-old US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Forum General Coordinator Hindu Anderi described Washington's discriminatory policy against Cuba as unnecessary and unjustified cruelty, and said it is alien to the White House's crowed discourse about the beginning of a new era.

Cuba has the right to self-determination and sovereignty and to the political system and government chosen by its people, she stressed.

The governments of the world and especially of the Latin American continent must take stronger actions to put an end to the US blockade, Anderi stressed.

Solidarity with Cuba is part of the World Campaign against Imperialist Interference, an initiative that promotes economic and ideological debate.

We must raise people's awareness about the scope of US-led imperialism through mass media and segregationist practices, she added.
