Sign Agreement On
Fighting Crimes

Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos and
French Budget of the Public Accounts
Minister Eric Woerth signed here Friday an
agreement aimed at fighting terrorism and
other crimes.
The agreement includes the exchange of
military and police information and "seeks
to improve the human, technical and
scientific resources to combat the drug and
weapon trafficking as well as economic
crimes and terrorist groups."
The two ministers talked about severing the
new routes used by drug traffickers to
smuggle cocaine into Europe, including those
via western African counties by planes and
ships.
Woerth appreciated the Colombian
government's exceptional efforts on fighting
drug trafficking, and stressed the
importance of information exchange for the
fight against the crime which long troubles
the Europe.
Santos and Woerth also signed an agreement
of maritime interdiction in order to
intercept the ships with cocaine for France.
Woerth said the agreement will help find out
the routes of the drug traffickers and the
methods they use.
