Bolivian Parliament Probes Terrorist Plot
La Paz - A Bolivian
Parliament Commission has launched an
investigation into a terrorist group that
from plotting to kill President Evo Morales.
The multiparty commission will be led by
Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) legislator
Cesar Navarro.
The probe will establish the gang�s motives
to attack the residence of Roman Catholic
Cardinal Julio Terrazas on April 15, and
Autonomy Deputy Minister Saul Avalos� on
March 29.
Also under investigation is the April 16
shootout in Las Americas Hotel, in Santa
Cruz, that resulted in the death of
suspected mercenaries Jorge Eduardo Rozsa
Flores (a Bolivian national), Dwyer Michael
Martin (Irish) and Magyarosi Arpad
(Hungarian).
Police arrested two others in the Santa Cruz
raid, whom local media identified as a
Bolivian and a Hungarian. Authorities said
police confiscated sniper rifles,
high-caliber guns and other explosives from
a nearby building.
The parliamentary commission will also
intend to establish who masterminded the
plots.
Immigration official Dionisio Rivas claimed
there is growing certainty that the
terrorists had entered Bolivia illegally or
used fake IDs.
Rivas added that other details will be
completed with intelligence from the State
Security and INTERPOL.
