Venezuela Hosts Gender Violence Event
Caracas - The
United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
World Conference on Gender Violence is to
start Tuesday in Caracas with some 60
international experts discussing policies,
actions and impact of this global problem.
The conference will pay attention to men's
role and impact by tackling gender-based
violence, and strategies for changing
attitudes and behaviors.
Other issues are legal, judiciary reforms
and community initiatives to face this
scourge, according to a release from the
Communication and Information Ministry.
The two-day event is sponsored by the
recently created Ministry for Women Affairs
and Gender Equality.
