Four Vie For
PAC Party Leadership
In a historic event for the life of the
young party, the Partido Acción Ciudadana
(PAC) yesterday ratified the credentials of
the four contenders who seek the party's
nomination for 2010 presidential elections.
Ottón Solís, Manuel Sánchez, Epsy Campbell
and Román Macaya will be choice of
candidates at the party's first convention,
where for the first time ever, the public
will on May 31 choose the person to lead
them into the 2010 elections.
The PAC party was formed in the 2000 by
Ottón Solís who ran in 2002 and 2006 the
party's candidate. In 2006, Solís came
within 18,169 votes of being president,
losing to Oscar Arias, and converting the
party into the official opposition in the
legislative assembly.
The registration for the voting will close
on April 30.
