Energy Deals

MOSCOW - Prensa Latina -
Russian President Dmitri
Medvedev and Venezuela's
Hugo Chavez attended
Friday the signing of
cooperation agreements
on the energy sphere.
Chavez and Medvedev will
met later today in the
city of Oremburg, some
912 miles south of
Moscow.
One of the agreements
was signed by the heads
of Russian gas giant
Gazprom and Venezuelan
energy firm PDVSA,
Alexei Miller and Rafael
Ramirez, respectively.
Both companies will
build an oil and gas
consortium.
A second document inked
by Russian Energy
Minister Serguei Shmatko
and Ramirez is aimed at
to developing a special
additional inter
government agreement in
the energy sphere.
After the signing
ceremony, Chavez voiced
his satisfaction with
this latest sign of
strengthening ties
between two nations.
Medvedev, on his turn,
thanked the Venezuelan
statesman for his warm
welcome last week to the
crew of two TU-160
strategic bombers on a
training mission over
the Caribbean. |
