Panama OKs US Colombian
Extradition
PANAMA - Panama
agreed to extradition to
the United States
Colombian William Johnny
Tamayo Hernandez, linked
to drug trafficking and
detained last week at a
capital restaurant,
authorities reported
Friday.
The operation took place
Thursday night between
police officers and the
US Drug Enforcement
Agency.
Tamayo is accused by the
United States of money
laundering and drug
trafficking.
According to experts, he
is also the right hand
person of drug dealer
Juan Carlos Ramirez,
alias Chupeta, detained
in Brazil two months
ago.
Tamayo's detention
coincided with media
versions of the
celebration of meetings
among drug traffickers
in Panama.
