Arias Image Improving
Following a big dip in popularity this year, Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias, appears to be recovering a indicated by the latest public opinion poll by Demoscopía for the Spanish language daily, Al Día.

The poll indicates that 36.1% say the prez is doing a good job, while 43.1% say his work is average, while 19.8% give him the thumbs down.

In July of this year, Arias got only a 27.5% vote in favour, a big drop from the 44.2% in April.

Demoscopía analyzed factors like leadership, ability to govern, vision for the future and the effectiveness of the president. The final grade was 62.3%.

In April the prez got a report card with a 73.5% and in July a 62.7%.

The poll takes into account the response of 1.204 people over the age of 18, between October 22 and November 2 and has a margin of error of +/- 2.8%.
