Moravia Without
Water Until Friday
Work crews of the
Instituto Costarricense
de Acueductos y
Alcantarillados (AyA) -
water and sewer utility
- are working around the
clock to reestablish
water service to the
community of Moravia,
northeast of San José,
after 6 metres of a
water main was damaged
from a mudslide on
Sunday.
The mudslide, caused by
heavy rain on Sunday,
broke the water main
that supplies water from
the Los Sitios plant.
Aya manager, Guillermo
Arce, said he hopes that
the work can be carried
out sooner, but is
doubtful that water
service will be restored
completely before
Friday.
Arce added that water
tankers will continue to
supply water to area
residents.
