5,000 Tons Marihuana
Seized in Paraguay
Paraguayan Police agents
seized 5,000 tons of
marihuana all along this
year, a report from
National Anti-drugs
Secretariat.
According to the report,
the amount is equivalent
to 1,626 hectares of
marihuana.
Some 38 drug traffickers
were detained, who
illegally traded in
drugs in Brazil and
Argentina, where it is
approximately valued at
1,000 dollars a
kilogram, the text
reads.
It adds results
registered in previous
years have been
surpassed in the massive
crackdown on marihuana
smuggling.
Drug traffickers have
lost more than 52
million dollars all
along 2008, due to
marihuana fields
destruction, as well as
seizures carried out.
