Americans To Be Allowed
To Send Cellphones To
Cuba
U.S. citizens will soon
be allowed to send
cellular telephones to
Cuba to promote freedom
of expression for Cuban
citizens, a senior
official of the National
Security Council said
Wednesday.
The U.S. government is
modifying its
regulations to allow
Americans to send mobile
phones to relatives in
Cuba, Dan Fisk, National
Security Council senior
director for Western
Hemisphere affairs, told
reporters.
Fisk said the new
policy, which is to take
effect in a few weeks,
does not indicate
Washington is abandoning
the decades-old U.S.
trade embargo against La
