150.000 Without Water
Tomorrow
Some 150.000 people
living in San José,
Desamparados and
Alajuelita will be
without water on Sunday
between 8:00am and
2:00pm.
The Acueductos y
Alcantarillados (AyA) -
water and sewer utility
- says it needs to turn
off the taps to perform
maintenance work on its
Puente Mulas acquadut.
AyA's Guillermo Arce
explained that work
crews will be changing
seals.
This is not the first
time that a large number
of people have been left
- intentionally -
without water, the last
time the AyA shut the
valves was on March 23.
Arce added that Sunday
is the best day to shut
off the flow of water, a
question of strategy, a
day that people are not
scurrying to get to work
or children off to
school.
Arce added that the
water may begin to flow
much earlier, depending
on the progress of the
workers. |
