Spectacular
Train And Bus Crash
Resulted Only In Minor
Injuries
A bus driver thought he
could outrun a train
ended up in a multiple
vehicle collision in
Barrio Cuba, south side
of San José.
Miracolously no one was
killed in what is being
called a "spectacular"
crash.
The Wednesday afternoon
accident is just one of
many accidents along the
train line that goes
from the Pacifico train
station to Pavas.
Accidents between the
"urban train" and
vehicles have occurred
at various points along
the train's route, but
more so than others at
the Barrio Cuba
intersection near the
Numar plant, at the
Sabana crossing near
McDonalds and the
western exit of the
Pacifico train station.
In yesterday's accident,
authorities reaching the
scene immediately
thought they would be
dealing with multiple
deaths. However, they
only had to deal with a
number of minor
injuries. 15 people
reported injuries.
The driver of the bus,
although there is no
official word if he will
be charged by Tránsito
(traffic) authorities, a
number of the passengers
told television news
cameras that they would
be seeking legal action
against him, for being
reckless in causing the
accident.
