With the increase the cost of a litre of super gasoline will be ¢656, up from ¢621; regular ¢644, up from ¢604; and diesel ¢622, up from ¢587.

Converted into the cost per gallon in US dollars (converted at ¢516 colones to the dollar), super will on Tuesday cost us$4.92 per US gallon; regular us$4.83; and diesel us$4.40. For Canadians, the cost of a Canuck gallon will be us$5.77, regular us$5.66 and diesel us$5.16.

However, this won't be the last round of price increases to come our way, as Friday the Refinadora Costarricense de Petróleo (Recope) will present the Aresep with its monthly price adjustment that will go into effect in July, which is rumoured to be ¢50 colones a litre for super and regular and ¢70 colones for diesel.
