Another Gasoline Price
Hike Approved, More On
the Way
Get ready for another
round of gasoline price
hikes, as the Autoridad
Reguladora de los
Servicios Públicos (Aresep),
approved a hike in the
price of gasoline which
is to take effect next
Tuesday.
Super gasoline will jump
¢35 colones per litre;
regular ¢40 colones; and
diesel ¢35 colones.
With the increase the
cost of a litre of super
gasoline will be ¢656,
up from ¢621; regular
¢644, up from ¢604; and
diesel ¢622, up from
¢587.
Converted into the cost
per gallon in US dollars
(converted at ¢516
colones to the dollar),
super will on Tuesday
cost us$4.92 per US
gallon; regular us$4.83;
and diesel us$4.40. For
Canadians, the cost of a
Canuck gallon will be
us$5.77, regular us$5.66
and diesel us$5.16.
However, this won't be
the last round of price
increases to come our
way, as Friday the
Refinadora Costarricense
de Petróleo (Recope)
will present the Aresep
with its monthly price
adjustment that will go
into effect in July,
which is rumoured to be
¢50 colones a litre for
super and regular and
¢70 colones for diesel.x |
