School Is Out For Mid
Year Break
Yesterday afternoon some
one million students
began their "mid year"
school break that will
last for 15 days. School
begins again on July 21.
As customary, the
Policía de Tránsito
(traffic police) also
began its traditional
operations for the
school break, being out
in full force along the
highways to ensure a
smooth arrival and
return home to and from
the beaches and resorts.
Tránsito officials will
concentrate on some very
high traffic routes like
Orotina, Monte del
Aguacate, Atenas,
Cambronero and Route 32
(San José - Limón).
The days with high
concentration of traffic
are July 4, 5, 5, 11,
12, 13, 19 and 20.
Checking for seatbelt
use, speeding and
drinking and driving is
a priority for the
traffic police.
