Recope Gas Price
Drop A Joke!
The drop in the price of
crude oil on
international markets is
the reason behind the
Refinadota Costarricense
de Petróleo (RECOPE)
request on Friday to
reduce the price of a
litre of super gasoline
¢1.5 colones, regular ¢5
colones and diesel ¢3
colones.
The state refinery said
that the drop would have
been greater if the
dollar exchange had not
climbed to a record ¢556
colones for the buy.
The request is the
normal second Friday of
the month request by
Recope that is submitted
to the Autoridad
Reguladora de Servicios
Públicos (Aresep).
The reduction, once
approved by the Aresep,
will likely take place
next month.
However, gasoline prices
will increase on
Wednesday as the July
Aresep approval kicks
in.
Gasoline prices on
Wednesday will jump to
¢732 colones for a litre
of super, up from the
current ¢716; ¢721 for a
litre of regular, up
from the current ¢704;
and, ¢726 colones for a
litre of diesel, up from
the current ¢710. |
