122 Intoxicated By
Unidentified Gas in
Colombia
At least 122 people, 96
of whom are students,
were poisoned by
unidentified gases
Friday in northwestern
Colombia, local media
reported.
The 122 people in La
Cruzada suffered
intoxication Friday
morning, making them
vomit, faint and feel
dizzy, among other
symptoms.
La Cruzada's mayor Jesus
Maria Bedoya said the
situation is under
control and the victims
have been sent to local
hospitals for medical
treatment. Most are in a
stable condition.
Local and department
officials are
investigating the cause
of the mass poisoning.
Some 10 firemen were
mobilized in a Colombian
Air Force helicopter to
detect the origin of the
