Costa Rica's Saprissa
defeated the Houston
Dynamo 3-0 to reach the
finals of the CONCACAF
Champions Cup on
Wednesday.
The teams played to a
scoreless draw in the
first leg of the
semifinals.
Three-time champion
Saprissa will face
Mexico's Pachuca in the
finals starting on April
23. Pachuca beat DC
United 3-2 on aggregate.
Saprissa's first goal
came from Houston.
Goalkeeper Tony Caig
appeared ready to block
a strong shot by Armando
Alonso, but the ball
deflected in off
defender Patrick Ianni's
leg.
Three minutes into the
second half, Celso
Borges doubled the lead
and Jairo Arrieta
outmaneuvered Caig in
the 76th with the
insurance goal.
