Flee Out The Window or Drown
Taxi driver Alonso Monge got the scare of his life yesterday while driving in the area around Spoons in San Pedro, Montes de Oca, when he had to escape his own vehicle through the window, or risk drowning to death.

The incident occurred later yesterday afternoon during the seasonal downpour.

Monge didn't realize the flow of rain was that great. According to the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - the weatherman - yesterday's rain was the heaviest in many years, causing flash flooding in many area, even in areas where flooding has never occurred.

The Monge incident was caught live by the TV Extra 42 news cameras as the taxi driver never imagined having to flee his taxi by the window.

"I saw it was raining, but never imagined it that hard", said Monge.
