Ten injured in Argentine
central bank fire
Ten people were
hospitalized with smoke
inhalation on Tuesday
after a fire broke out
in the central bank in
the center of the
Argentine capital,
medics said.
"All the affected have
been taken care of,"
Buenos Aires Emergency
Medical Service doctor
Alberto Crescenti said.
Firefighters evacuated
the entire bank after
the fire broke out on
the third floor.
Dozens of drivers and
passers-by stopped to
watch the column of
smoke rising from the
complex of five
interconnected
buildings. Four
ambulances and fire
trucks were still
visible at the scene,
and traffic has been
halted.
"The flames burned part
of one of the tallest
buildings," a bank
spokesman said.
