Quake Aftershocks
Scare Hondurans
Massive evacuation
continues in central
Honduras due to the
aftershocks affecting
the country since
Saturday's earthquake
and forecasts announce
new replicas.
Marale municipality,
Francisco Morazan,
declared an emergency
since epicenter of the
devastating 5.5 degrees
quake in the Richter
scale is located south
of northern Yoro
Department.
Jose Salinas, head of
operations of the
Permanent Contingency
Commission (COPECO),
said the quake activated
faults whose 15-18
aftershocks left over
1,600 victims and
destroyed 140 homes at
17 Tolupan indigenous
communities.
Marco Burgos, head of
COPECO, called the
people to stay calm and
reminded that this
situation is just
