Iran May Fix Nicaragua
after Storm
Iranian President Mahmud
Ahmadineyad said Friday
his government is
willing to help
Nicaragua rebuild zones
affected by Hurricane
Felix, and provide
attention to those
affected.
In a conversation with
his Nicaraguan
counterpart, Daniel
Ortega reported by
Iran's IRNA news agency,
Ahmadineyad transmitted
his solidarity to the
Nicaraguan people, and
offered condolences for
the victims.
Hurricane Felix pounded
the Autonomous Region of
the Nicaraguan Atlantic
North on September 4,
leaving 67 people dead
and 110 missing, with
nearly 10,000 houses
destroyed.
Several countries are
providing solidarity
with the region, and
some like Venezuela have
already sent
humanitarian aid.
The World Food Program
yesterday called for an
emergency aid of 17
million dollars to help
the 100,000 hurricane
