Recope Asks for A Drop in Gasoline Prices
Relief from high gasoline prices may be on the way, as the Refinadora Costarricense de Petroleo (RECOPE) submitted a request for a decrease in the prices of super and regular gasolines by ¢84 and ¢64 colones, respectively.

However, the price of diesel fuel will be increased by ¢31 colones, according to the request filed with the Autoridad Reguladora de Servicios Públicos (Aresep).

According to RECOPE the drop is taking into account international prices for crude oil.

The Aresep has 15 days to reply to the request.

Currently, a litre of super gasoline costs ¢624, regular ¢588 and diesel ¢427.
