Main Candidates Close Campaign in Guatemala
A week before the Guatemalan elections, candidates are winding up Sunday massive campaigns in this capital, to attract the vote of those indecisive people in a very fierce contest.

National Unity of Hope presidential candidate Alvaro Colom, who leads vote intentions, is due to close his capital campaign at the "Forum de Mundo E," a conference center in the capital's eastern zone.

Meanwhile, Otto Perez Molina, from the Patriotic Party, will meet with his followers in the Central Park, located in the city's historical quarter.

The struggle for the presidency has been worsened during the last few days when, according to polls, the gap between Colom and Perez Molina gets shorter and a runoff election with a technical tie between both adversaries is almost sure.

Colom and Perez Molina are expected to ink a pact Monday, together with another 12 aspirants for the presidency, in which they promise to accept results of the September 9 elections.
