Panamanian political,
social and trade union
organizations, as well
as figures and academic
friends of Cuba demanded
Sunday the release of
five Cuban
anti-terrorist fighters
unfairly imprisoned in
the United States.
The Eighth National
Meeting of Solidarity
with Cuba stated that
September 12 marks the
10th anniversary of the
unjust imprisonment of
Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon
Labanino, Antonio
Guerrero, Fernando
Gonzalez and Rene
Gonzalez.
Over 200 delegates from
nine Panamanian
provinces, met in the
southwestern city of Los
Santos, called to carry
out all kinds of actions
for the freedom of the
Cuban Five during the
International Solidarity
Campaign starting
September 12 through
October 8.
The assembly requested
the Panamanian Justice
Supreme Court to declare
unconstitutional the
pardon given to
terrorist Luis Posada
Carriles and his
accomplices, as well as
an exemplary
condemnation for those
officials who allowed
his illegal departure
from the country.
The forum fostered a
fruitful exchange of
experiences, including
an updating of the
process and initiatives
to continue the
permanent labor of
national and
international spreading
of the case. |
