Air Caraibes Begins
Flying To Costa Rica in
December
As we reported earlier
this month, the French
airline Air Caraibes, on
of the four new airlines
to be offering service
to and from Costa Rica,
will begin operations to
San José from the France
and the Antilles in
December.
The airline says it will
use planes with capacity
for 100 and fly to and
from the Juan Santamaría
(San José) international
airport, stopover in
Panama and on to
Guadeloupe in the French
Antilles, with
connections to Paris.
Ticket prices will range
from us$450 to Guadalupe
and us$850 to Paris,
according to Marie
Claire Roux, sales
director for Air
Caraibes.
Air Cariabes, who is
based in Guadeloupe
started out of the
necessity to have a
regional airline
responding to the needs
of the French Caribbean
territories.
The company was founded
in July 2000 through the
merger of various local
airlines (Air
Guadeloupe, Air
Martinique, Air St
Barthélémy, Air St
Martin). In 2002, the
company flew 445,000
passengers and earned 68
Millions Euros in
revenues.
Domestic scheduled
destinations include:
Cayenne, Fort-de-France,
La Desirade, Marie
Galante, Paris, Pointe-à-Pitre,
Saint-Barthélemy, Saint
Martin and Les Saintes.
International scheduled
destinations include:
Belém, Canouan Island,
Curaçao, Havana,
Port-au-Prince, Santo
Domingo, Saint Lucia, St
Maarten, and Union
