Cuba a Smash at Russia Tourism Fair
Cuba is exhibiting the largest tourism product ever on the Russian market at International Tourism Fair that opened here Tuesday.

The show at Moscow's exhibition center Crocus Expo is being attended by a wide Cuban delegation led by the commercial director of the tourism ministry (MINTUR), Luis F.. Aguilera, with representatives from the firms Cubatur, Cubanacan, Gaviota, Havanatur, Habaguanex, Gran Caribe, Sol y son, and Isla Azul.

This is a very important occasion for Cuba, as the winter market is negotiated here, and many Russian tourists travel to tropical zones this time of the year, Carlos Oscar Hernandez, director of the MINTUR office in Russia, said.

"In 2006, Cuba welcomed about 27,800 Russian visitors, and we hope the figure surpasses 30,000 this year," he stated.
