Caribbean Tour Ministers Meet on AIDS
The tourism ministers of the Organization of
Eastern Caribbean States opened a meeting in
Grenada Tuesday to analyze the effect of
HIV-AIDS on that economic sector.
OECS, from its headquarters in Castries, St.
Lucia, said in a release that air and maritime
transport among OECS member countries will also
be an agenda priority.
The officials are also debating an initiative
for a cruise ship tourism task force, and
assessing the affects on tourism in Grenada by
Hurricanes Ivan and Emily.
OECS is made up of Anguilla, Antigua and
Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica,
Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St.
Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
