Bomb
Threatens Guatemalan Electoral Court
A bomb threatening was registered in the central
building of the Guatemalan Supreme Electoral
Court (TSE) and some of its sections Wednesday,
local authorities reported.
Two anonymous telephone calls alerted on the
possible putting of a bomb in the TSE
installations, as confirmed to the press by
police officers.
Because of the alarm, 35 people were temporarily
evacuated from a close office to the central
building.
Agents of the explosives section of the National
Civil Police and the dog unit were sent to the
installations.
At the moment of the alarm, there was a meeting
of prosecutors of the political parties that
will take part in the general elections on
September 9.
