2007 Underway
Hosted by the Asociación Costarricense de
Profesionales en Turismo (ACOPROT) - the Costa
Rican Association of Tourism Professionals -
EXPOTUR 2007 kicked off yesterday at the Hotel
Radisson Herradura conference centre, were some
445 tourism related companies gathered.
The annual event brings in buyers from all over
the world to share in Costa Rica's us$1.7
billion dollar tourist trade.
The trade show, open only to tourism
professionals, has been held regularly at
the Herradura and the strains of the small space
are beginning to show as each year more and more
participants attend.
EXPOTUR 2007 , called the Costa Rica Travel
Mart, offers participants a variety of
negotiation opportunities through pre-scheduled
appointments and sessions for “Free Shopping”.
In addition to product development, a complete
program of site inspections is offered.
Attending the event are representatives from
travel wholesalers, hotels, tour operators and
attractions, transport companies, government
agencies, car rentals and airlines.
