Spoiled Meat Sickens Guatemalans
The number of people poisoned grows after eating contaminated meat in a National Unity of Hope Party s meeting (UNE) in the Guatemalan department of Escuintla.

Several people, most of them children, had to be admitted to the national hospital of that locality this Sunday because of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting after eating contaminated meat.

Oscar Canek, hospital director, reported that the intoxication s cause could be a staphylococcus.

The UNE presidential candidate Alvaro Colom and his partner, cardiologist Rafael Espada, visited the sick people and promised that the party will cover the recovery expenses.
