us$250 Million in Industrial Park
Several Costa Rican businessmen partake in a us$250-million joint venture for the development of an industrial park in El Coyol, Alajuela, west of the Juan Santamaría International airport.

The facility is expected to host 60 companies – most of them from abroad and under the tax exemption free zone program for export operations – and to provide 30,000 jobs when fully operational.

The park covers 107 hectares (over 264 acres), and 10 hectares (24.7 acres) will be dedicated to a protected area.

According to Coyol Free Zone chairman Andre Garnier, three companies plan to start operations at their facility next year.
