Bilingual Job Fair Today
Looking for a job in Costa Rica and are
bilingual? Then head out and visit the 3rd
Bilingual Job Fair that is looking to hire some
7.500 bilinguals offered by some 23
international service companies.
In the first day some 3.000 attended the job
fiar that is being held in the Centro Nacional
de Cultura, old Fábrica Nacional de Licores, in
San José. The hours are from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Vanessa Gibson, coordinator for the services
sector of the Coalición Costarricense de
Iniciativas de Desarrollo (Cinde), explained
that though the numbers of attendees is lower
than expected, the quality of the language
skills by those attending the job fair is much
better than in the past.
"In the first job fair 2 out of every 10 had the
necessary bilingual skill level required. During
this job fair at least 6 out of every 10 have
the necessary skills", said the director general
of Cinde, Edna Camacho.
Although English is the language most sought by
employers, there is a need for other languages,
like Italian, French and Chinese, among others.
