Nicaragua Advances with
Vaccinations
The national vaccination
campaign initiated by Nicaraguan
authorities is 83 percent
complete, with over one million
103,000 doses administered, the
Ministry of Health confirmed on
Friday.
According to Juan Jose Amador,
director of epidemiology at the
Health Ministry, the campaign
has run smoothly since it
started eight days ago, thanks
to the collaboration from
different sectors of Nicaraguan
society.
Amador particularly praised the
national police and army for
their support and also lauded
the help given by teachers,
students and community leaders.
The campaign concludes on
Sunday, and will have immunized
1.5 million children against
polio, measles, rubella,
tetanus, hepatitis, and other
very common diseases in
Nicaragua.
