Students on Hunger Strike
Students
of Honduras Francisco Morazan National Pedagogic
University began a hunger strike for an
unlimited period on Wednesday, to demand a
reduction of enrollment costs.
The students have been on strike at the
university for 30 days, but Carlos Suazo, one of
the movement leaders, said that the sit-in did
not "achieve anything concrete."
The hunger strike was called after the Dean s
Office suspended student Javier Espinal, one of
the coordinators of demonstrations.
Students affirmed that if they don't reach an
agreement, they are willing demonstrate at the
National Congress.
