US Deportations Wreak Central American Havoc
The Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) will voice criticism of massive deportations from the United States during its next meeting in Honduras, informed deputy Laura Franco in this capital.

She said the need to review the subject arises from the unbridled increase of raids and repatriation of illegal aliens, primarily from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

In declarations to the press Franco explained that they will demand that the US Senate continue debating migratory reform to offer a permanent solution to the problem of 12 million illegal aliens in that country.

"From Central America we have been working with the Catholic Church, civil society, Congress and other sectors to explain our common opinion to halt these deportations," the Guatemalan deputy added.

The legislator warned of the consequences of this policy for Central American nations, like unemployment and social problems and called for governments to take measures. According to figures of humanitarian organizations, only this year 35 thousand Guatemalans, Salvadorans and Hondurans have been repatriated.
