Arias "Acabangado"

Rican president, Oscar Arias Sánchez, Friday
confirmed his break up with his girlfriend of
eight months, Geovanna Mendiola and told the
press "si, si hay cabanga".
Cabanga is the Spanish term for someone who is
sad, melancholy, over a loss of a love.
The 66 year old president, during a cabinet
meeting held in San Antonio de Belén, said that
"we will be taking a break and see what happens.
She is a wonderful woman which I value and love
very much. I am calm and so is she because it is
of mutual agreement".
When asked if the break up is definitive, Arias
said "only death and paying taxes are definite".
After that, the president cut the interview
short, saying this is a personal matter and
wants to maintain it that way.
Mendolia, a public relations professional,
having worked for the Grupo Nación adn Repretel,
has said she will not speak publicly on the
matter and asked the press for respect for her
private life and this is a matter between Oscar
and her.
Mendolia, is 46 years old and is second cousin
to Arias on the Sánchez side of the family, had
been divorced twice and is mother of four
children.
Last January, Mendolia confirmed her
relationship with the prez after months of
denial and rumours that the president had a
girlfriend and that wedding bells where in the
air.
