Child Abuser Captured in Jacó
The
International Police (Interpol) and Costa Rican
authorities detained on Friday, Felipe Gavino
Barrera, wanted in Polk County, Florida, for
sexual abuse of a minor.
Gavino, one of five of Polks County's top
fugitive from justice was arrested in Jacó where
he had been living there for several months and
where he was running a local internet service,
according to an Interpol press statement.
Gavino, who was captured outside of his internet
business, was wanted for having forced sexual
relations with a 12 year old girl between 2002
and 2004.
Immigration records indicate that the man
entered Costa Rica in 2005 and have been
residing in the country illegally since them.
Costa Rican immigration officials are in the
process of deporting the man.
