Panama, Costa Rica to
Discuss Policies
Panama and Costa Rica
will study important
political, trade and
migratory issues during
a bilateral meeting on
July 26 and 27,
announced the Panamanian
Foreign Ministry.
The first meeting of the
Mechanism of Political
Consultations between
the two nations will be
held in parallel with
the Permanent Commission
of Limits and
Cooperation in Border
Development.
Negotiations will
develop in four work
groups that will study
issues of Policies,
Security and Migration,
Trade, Customs and
Transportation as well
as issues of
Cooperation.
Among main objectives is
a common interest to
strengthen Central
American integration,
reported the communique
by the Foreign Affairs
Ministry of Panama.
Both nations propose
exerting a more
effective control of
borders, environmental
crimes, indigenous
migrations related to
work and illegal
transit.
At the same time the
meeting aims to expedite
customs control and
"match timetables and
procedures to speed up
border crossing."
The note also states
that they will study
road, air and sea
transportation to
improve services between
both countries. |
