Cooperation Proposals
Bloom in ALBA
About 200 experts from
Venezuela, Cuba,
Bolivia, and Nicaragua
are having the last look
at ambitious cooperation
programs of the
Bolivarian Alternative
for the Americas (ALBA).
The first meeting of the
ALBA technical
commissions is a key
step in the
integrationist project
of the four countries,
which already created
their council of
ministers and
presidents, and are
preparing the 5th
Summit, to be held late
this year.
Attention is
particularly focused on
the so called
grand-national projects,
which Nicaraguan
representative Paul
Oquist called "the
future for integration
and progress of the
peoples."
One of the meeting s
objectives is to
establish a working
program for the creation
of a feasibility study
of enterprises and
socio-economic
grand-national projects.
The agreements will be
handed in to the ALBA
Political Commission,
for its further analysis
in the second Council of
Ministers' meeting
September 3-4 in Havana. |
