First Central American Congress of Tourism Education
Costa Rica will celebrate on July 18th and 19th 2007, the First Central American Congress of Tourism Education: “Education: Strategic point for tourism development,” carried out by the Costa Rican Association of Professionals in Tourism (ACOPROT).

The purpose of this event is to offer useful tools that can be used to improve the quality of tourism education in Central America.

The object of the activity is to gather different specialists in the education field, as well as professionals in tourism, students, educators, and public entities related to the topic, in order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of tourism education and propose practical and immediate solutions.

During the congress, there will be room for analysis and discussion related to key topics of tourism education quality, which will be compiled into documents of recommendations and areas for improvement. These documents will become the basis for the development of programs, study plans, methodology, didactic material, training educators, and procedures for tourist accreditation.

The congress will be carried out in 2 days of 4 sessions. The location is the Paraninfo Auditorium, UNED, San José.
