Bolivia Cochabamba Governor to Trial
Farmers in the tropic federations of the Bolivian central department of Cochabamba have agreed to start a Judgment of Responsibilities against Gov. Manfred Reyes.

The farmers decided the stop mobilizing in protests against the Reyes administration and returned to their communities Thursday, but warned they would never allow the authority to exercise his functions again.

According to Julio Salazar, one of the federation leaders, in the judicial process against Reyes he will be charged for the violent clashes that caused two deaths and 200 wounded in that region on January 11.

Similarly, he will be accused of massacre and criminal aggression by hiring members of the Santa Cruz Juvenile Union.

After more than two weeks of strikes and severe clashes, Cochabamba became calm again and the social movements, which have not given up their intention to obtain the governor s resignation, have started to withdraw.

We have lifted this peaceful mobilization but we are still in a state of emergency, we will be on alert to return when it is necessary in defense of Cochabamba s unity, Salazar warned.

Leaders of the federation will meet with President Evo Morales on January 27 to analyze the present political, economic and social situation in that department.
