Honduran Police Accused of
Crimes
Criminal acts in Honduras,
committed by people in police
uniform, have so increased as to
terrify the general population,
the Human Rights Commission
denounced on Friday.
National Commissioner Ramon
Custodio stressed that the modus
operandi is not new, and has
been in use here for several
years, chiefly by drug gangs.
The commissioner said security
authorities accept that the use
of uniforms and almost
professional procedures by the
criminals indicate police
involvement.
There are ex police in organized
crime in Honduras and the
Security Office has indicated
some active police may be double
agents, Custodio said.
