Hipermás Open 24 Hours,
Other Retailers and
Malls Offer Extended
Hours For Last Minute
Christmas Shopping
Supermarkets, malls and
large retailers have all
extended they hours
during the last couple
of days of the Christmas
shopping, to allow their
customers to shop
without the crowds and
long lines at the check
out counters.
Wal-Mart de Costa Rica,
which operates the Más x
Menos, Maxibodega and
Palí supermarkets and
the Hipermás retail
stores is offering
special hours to
shoppers, like keeping
its Hipermás stores open
24 hours until the
closing time of 9:00pm
on December 24, then be
open until 10:00pm on
December 25 and 9:00pm
on January 1 and regular
stores between December
26 and December 31.
Wal-Mart will alos keeps
is grocery stores open
on Christmas and New
Years day, closing its
Palí stores at 3:00pm
and its Mas x Menos and
Maxibodge at 7:00pm.
The malls around San
José are all offering
extended shopping hours.
All the malls,
Multiplaza, Paseo de las
Flores, Terramall and
Mall San Pedro are
offering extended hours.
In Escazú, Multiplaza,
as well as the other
malls will be open until
10:00pm until tomorrow
night.
Mall San Pedro and
Cariari, for instance,
will open its doors on
Christmas day, while
others only will open
its food court and
others like Terramall
have yet to announce a
decision.
