Over 20 Tons of Drugs Seized in Panama
Panamanian authorities confiscated more than 20 tons of drugs from January to November 2007, according to the Narcotics Division of the Judicial Technical Police.

The institution said in a communiqué that 20 tons, 934 kilograms and 396.76 grams of narcotics were seized during the said period.

The police arrested 646 people (504 men and 142 women) involved in drug sale or distribution.

Among those arrested, 461 are Panamanian and 91 are Colombians, the other drug traffickers are from Costa Rica, Jamaica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Holland, the United States, Great Britain, Mexico and Venezuela.
