Brazil, Venezuela Sign Accords To Boost Eeconomic, Trade Ties
Brazil and Venezuela on Thursday signed nine bilateral economic and trade accords at a ceremony chaired by Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez.

The nine accords were signed to boost the bilateral ties during Lula's brief visit to Venezuela, which include the construction of a hydroelectric plant and the promotion of petrochemical cooperation, reported the Latin American News Agency.

The two leaders also met on such issues as agriculture, industries, energy and regional integration, said the Venezuelan presidential press office.

Over 200 Brazilian entrepreneurs held a two-day meeting here with their Venezuelan counterparts earlier this week.

Bilateral trade reached 4.091 billion U.S. dollars in 2006.
