Two Foreigners Found
Dead in Alajuela Hotel
Room
The Oganismo de
Investigación Judicial (OIJ)
is investigating the
find of the bodies of
two foreigners in an
Alajuela hotel room this
morning.
The bodies of Henry
Carter, a US citizen and
Alberto Carreño, a
Spanish national, were
found in hotel room 202
of the hotel La Guaria
Inn.
The two men were in the
country supposedly on
business.
Police were called when
the owners of the hotel
had not seen the two men
opened the door to the
room and found one of
the bodies wrapped in a
bed sheet and the other
sitting in front of a
portable computer.
Authorities believe that
one of the men died from
swallowing pills and
consuming liquor while
the cause of death of
the other is yet
unknown.
A woman identified the
bodies and told police
that they men were here
on business but did not
specify as to what.
The local chief of
police said that the men
had been in the hotel
for the past week, but
it had been days that
only one of the men had
been seen coming and
going and had asked that
his room not be cleaned.
Cruz Roja (Red Cross)
workers confirmed that
one of the men had died
before the other due to
the decomposition of the
body.
Police found no signs of
struggle or violence in
the room other than a
great quantity of pills
and empty beer cans.
