Gasoline Prices Going Up, Up And
Up
The low reserve levels are the
primary reason for the next
round of gasoline price hikes,
according to the latest request
made by the Refinadora
Costarricense de Petróleo (Recope)
to the regulating authority.
Yesterday, the price hike on
super gasoline took effect,
setting the price per litre at
˘568 colones, up from ˘533.
The increase of ˘40 colones per
litre in the price of regular
went into effect this morning,
which sets the final price at
the pumps at ˘549 colones.
Both the increase in super and
regular gasoline was approved
last week.
If approved the price for a
litre of diesel will jump from
the current ˘375 colones to ˘390
colones. Kerosene and Jet A-1
fuel will increase ˘22 colones
and ˘20 colones respectively.
