Fidel, Raul Castro Meet Chinese
Representative
Cuban President Fidel Castro and
First Vice President Raul Castro
welcomed separately a Chinese
delegation led by Wu Guanzheng,
member of the Permanent
Political Bureau Committee of
that country s Communist Party
Central Committee.
According to an official note,
the Cuban statesman met for an
hour with Wu, who gave him a
letter from President Hu Jintao,
an expression of the excellent
links between the two Communist
Parties and governments.
After the meeting, the Chinese
delegation also held talks with
Raul Castro, to analyze national
and international issues for
Havana and Beijing.
The parties inked an accord on
economic and technical
cooperation and another document
on modifications to the
agreement for the promotion and
reciprocal protection of
investments, stated the release.
The Chinese party leader started
a tour of Latin America in this
capital on Friday that will also
take him to Colombia and Chile.
